Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup sourdough starter (fed or unfed, room temperature)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- Optional: Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your Pampered Chef Stoneware Bar Pan with parchment paper (optional).
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes). Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and sourdough starter.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine Wet & Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
- Scoop Dough: Use a Pampered Chef Cookie Scoop to drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle Sea Salt: Add a light sprinkle of sea salt on top of each cookie.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are slightly soft.
- Cool: Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a cooling rack.
