Dear Savages,
Summer is here and these Quick & Easy Pulled Pork Pretzel Bun Sandwiches will hit the cravings for a sweeter meal on a hot night. They are easy to make and can feed a crowd.
Sometimes one ingredient inspires me to try something new. For these I was inspired by the Pretzel Buns I was given. The pretzel buns are soft and chewy but still have a sturdiness to them. The sturdiness allows them to hold together the big sandwich, but they are still soft enough to soak up juices from the pork. I put my pretzel buns in the oven before serving so that they are warm with the sandwich. I also used a spicy pickle, shredded cabbage, cheddar cheese and more Kinder’s Mild BBQ Sauce. All came together very nicely to make an amazing sandwich!
If you have made pulled pork before from scratch you know that it takes hours. The hack to make these quick and easy, is to buy pre-made pork carnitas. Sam’s Club Member’s Mark Carnitas are what I used for these and are pictured in the recipe below, but I have used the Del Real Pork Carnitas as well. You want to cook the carnitas, shred them (if you need to) and toss the shredded pork with BBQ Sauce. I only use Kinder’s Mild BBQ sauce. It has a sweetness that compliments the pork very well.
I also recommend this as a meal for a camping trip. We love camping, and when I am camping I am always looking for a couple things in the meals I choose to cook. Is it easy? Yes. How many ingredients do I need? Six. Can I feed multiple families? Yes. I recommend serving these sandwiches with corn, baked beans and cold watermelon for a complete meal.
